The 17th of april 2007 Mags.dk awarded some of the best magasines in Denmark. I made the prices. All of the prices have a connection to medium of the award. E.g. on the award for “art-director of the year” there is alot of markers, pantone guides etc.
See all of the awards. (new window)

I was selected by threadless to make a t-shirt for their “select” series. Its about all the good things in life… all the best. Buy one here

I am part of an art-show in Portland (US) Saturday the 3rd of february with Cody Hudson, Jeremyville, HuskMitNavn, TADO, Little Friends of Printmaking and many others. All the invited artists have each chosen a different dog breed. I chose The German Shepherd, and made a comment on how German Shepherds always seem to be the helper of authorities and police…VUF!
More info about the show here

Two posters.

Selected pieces for the element spring and summer clothing line.

Some more Element logos…

Deck series for the good guys at LAB. The graphics are about the darker side of growing up and leaving childhood behind… or “Trading magic for facts” as Jeppevaernet puts it…

“We are red, we are white, we are danish dynamite” Logo-design for the upcoming danish design news-collective ‘Dansk Dynamit’

Mark and logodesign for Client Apparel.

My Brand is a book and exhibitions. All the selected artwork represents the relationship between the brand and the human being. My piece is altered versions of brands that have marked me. Other artists include people like: NeubauBerlin, Parra, 123Buero, Serial Cut, Hort, GrandPeople and Eboy.

Some new KIRK lamps based on the artwork for exit strategy. more info later…

Note: a couple of the doodles (the whale etc.) is made together with my brother Martin Kozak.

Ring-ring. Costumized phones for hulger
“Mobile phones are not only a bit boring but there are also rumours that they cook your brain. At HULGER we think this is a bad thing & in initial tests we see that the P*PHONE cuts radiation exposure to the head by around 90%. We think that cooking is something good for food, not brains.”

New series of decks for LAB.

Illustrations for Backdrops, program, posters, flyers, website… pretty much everything.

Artwork for a show at the local skateshop/gallery Free (Eixample) and this seasons Bread & Butter.

Full profile for Sumo studio including everything from subbrand ID and stationary to webdesign.

Remember the days, when the rain was the clouds peeing? And if you ate the seeds of an apple, an appletree would grow in your stomach? Or the changes of the moon was caused by a man who was eating from it? God shooting lightning bolts at the kids from the sky? The monsters under your bed? Playing doctor?
I do.
The Kindergarten Legend is a series of skateboards created for LAB

First round of Emil Kozak tees.
The “Avantgarde” tees are a spoof on Herb Lubalins amazing logo for the Avant Garde Magazine drawn in 1967 (which in 1970 was redrawn to include lowercase characters). I guess my take on it, is just a salute to non-violence packed in one of the best logos ever made.

I was commisioned by Lando to make some in-sole-artwork for their 06 collection.

Instant Winner is the skateboard company of Craig Metzger and Augie Galan (supreme). The concept behind these decks is, that once the pop wears out, you can saw/build either a plane, a van or a boombox with bling-ring and brass knuckles.

Created a new series of skateboards for Lab. Laser, Laser!

Full profile for Restaurante DosTresSeis.

I was commisioned to create 3 flags/banners (3 meters high) for the luksus offices. More about Luksus here

I made 5 lampshade-designs for an exhibition with artists like Michael Genovese, Can and more…
One of the designs looks like a trendy pattern, but up close it says “Disco sux, punk is gay, heavy metal all the way!”
Check the exhibition at LLLP, fælledvej 18, 2200 KBH N. or buy the lamps at Casashop or Illums bolighus in CPH.

I was commisioned to make Posters, flyers and backdrop for Eastpak´s punk/rock tour.

Roots is new skateshop/skatebrand soon opening in Copenhagen, Denmark. I was commisioned to design the logotype and profile. My approach was to create a brand that has elements from the origin of skateboarding; sweatbands, beards, slalomcones, knee high socks, the old decks, rails etc. and give it all a more contemporary look.
I will update this post when i get the chance to take some photos of the shopwindows etc.

Did this series of graphics for the almighty and wonderful french/danish/american skatecompany. If you are not a skateboarder, then you are probably not familiar with the relation between “pop” and a skatedeck. Buy a board and pop some ollies on your way to the office. Get it?
these decks are the children of a great conceptual collaboration between me and the streetmachine team.
(for more info about streetmachine go here)

The mother nature theme is a comment on how life is constantly changing, evolving, dying and starting. Everything in life and nature is based is based on change.
Well… enough of my blabbering, I´ll let Darwin do the talking: “The species that survive are usually not the smartest or the strongest, but the ones most responsive to change.”
Pestol is a danish project that explores new tendencies in graphic design, and the artists behind.

Logo created for CIA (Creative Internet Agency).

Created a full profile for Onesto Mong including logo, business cards, website etc. Onesto Mong is an Advertising Agency from Copenhagen, DK. Besides of being a typical ad agency, Onesto Mong is specialized in creating projects that adress young people. They have alot of fun and they always have all kind of crazy stuff going on. They even have an old crappy boat, with DJ´s and such, sailing up and down the harbour of Copenhagen in the summertime.

Acrylic on canvas. 92X73 cm. Mail me if you are interested in buying.
“You´ll all die in your cars” is inspired by the Ben Folds song called “Zak and Sara”. I like Ben Folds, and so should you.
“It´s not small” is the result of a juvenile discussion, my girlfriend and i had, about penis-size vs. overweight. (The michelin guy - also called Bibendum - on the painting is actually right according to medical science)

Never used… bummer.

never used… triple-bummer.

Another series of graphics for the almighty and wonderful french/danish/american skatecompany.
(for more info about streetmachine go here)

Full profile for a danish music-production company. They actually wrote and produced the winning song of the Eurovison contest 2005. I guess it was good i did´nt go for the Slayer inspired design i initially had planned out.
Disco sux,
Punk is gay,
Heavy Metal all the way!

Various skateboards created for LAB
LAB has a really good skateteam and they are truly ripping and shredding. They are all about skateboarding. No tight pants or eighties-revivals here… move along! They are very relaxed and cool to work with. They have´nt dismissed any idea yet because it was too twisted, putrid or grotesque.

Alot of stuff is going to get up here within the next couple of days…
In the meantime, you can spend some Benjamin Franklins at the brand sparkling new NORSE webshop
Which is designed by moi, me, yo, jeg, Emil.

Porfolio CD with fonts and .eps-files.
The font used on the cover is FartDeco made by me. Download it here.
