I am happy to announce the release of my first album. You might wonder why someone would make a double-album as their first release, but the truth is that it’s more of a compilation of tracks I have made over the last 17 years. Yes, 17 years and thousands of hours of recordings. These works span such a vast amount of time, that there is no particular mood or theme throughout the tracks. They do however have one thing in common; the tools and the process. They are all based on improvisation on guitar, synthesizer, field recordings and effects.
The titles ‘Alting’ (Everything) and ‘Ingenting’ (Nothing) are a reference to Søren Kirerkegaard’s existentialist masterpiece ‘Enten/Eller’ (‘Either/Or’), which among other subjects, contemplates, the concept of existential dilemmas. As he wrote “If you marry, you will regret it; if you do not marry, you will also regret it”. As this release has been in a continuous flux of self doubt, I thought it was fitting. Kierkegaard also reflects upon two ways of approaching life, the hedonistic (aesthetic) and the ethical individual. As these pieces of music explore both counterparts, I had no doubt, that it should be the title, which is kind of ironic through his eyes.
